At today’s Marvel event in LA, Marvel studios just laid down the comic book equivalent of a complete Smackdown on DC with the announcement of a whole slew of tent pole movies to be released over the forthcoming years. Kicking off with Captain America: Civil War in 2016 and running up to the end of Phase three with “Inhumans” in 2018, this means that by 2020 we will have seen more comic book movies than thought possible before Robert Downey Junior strutted onto our screens as Tony Stark in Iron Man.
Phase three sees the culmination of Kevin Feige’s and Marvel Studios long in play plan to take over the cinematic universe. The event today certainly broke the internet with #marvelevent trending world wide since they began releasing the names of the movies from their slate.
So what are we getting, pretty simply put a whole lot of movies. Starting with the aforementioned Captain America:Civil War (although Serpent Society would be a great name as well), we will be getting the following.
