DC and Warner Bros Pictures have stepped up their marketing efforts for the forthcoming Suicide Squad release. With less than two weeks to go, here is the final final final trailer.
The final trailer for Warner Bros Pictures Suicide Squad features some new footage that spells out what we can expect come August 5th. With Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice under performing, Suicide Squad is DC’s attempt to relaunch their cinematic universe.
By now we should all know what the concept behind the movie is going to be. A team of some very bad people are sent in to do something that will more than likely get them killed. But when those bad people are mainstays of DC’s unique rogue gallery, chances are we will get more than we bargained for. So it is perhaps a tad naive to suggest that David Ayer, director of Suicide Squad, is just releasing the DC version of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The first look at the forthcoming Justice League, shown at San Diego Comic Con, suggests a lighter tone. The new trailer, along with a number of shorter trailers, give us a better insight into the team and who is driving them.
Straight off, the opening sequence, with Will Smith’s Deadshot lamenting the fact that no one will know what they did is something that sets up the movie perfectly. Task Force X might be the bad guys, but there is something worse out there that they need to stop.
The rest of the trailer drops some more footage that we’ve seen before but somewhat repackaged. The highlight has to be towards the end where we see that Harley Quinn is not to be messed with.
Suicide Squad does have a lot riding on it but what we’ve seen so far this could be the beginning of an interesting new franchise.
